It is getting to that stage in the season where state cups are won, league champions are crowned, and goalkeepers have the opportunity to be the hero... or the villain!
We have all heard the quote ‘by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail’, yet it still amazes me how many goalkeepers fail to prepare themselves before competing in games.
In the same way that a forward warms up by working on their dribbling, passing, shooting etc. a goalkeeper should also be warming up and tuning in to all their goalkeeper specific techniques. It is also an additional 30 minutes of technique repetitions which is effectively an extra training session!
So what does a solid goalkeeper warm up look like?
